Our company derives its name from our love and respect for the Colorado outdoors. Quartz Creek is located in a historic gold mining area of Colorado. When early miners saw gold embedded in a quartz rock, they knew they were on the right track. Like those miners, Quartz Creek Capital is searching for high value partners and quality investments.

Blair Tikker

Co-Founder, Managing Director

Prior to co-founding Quartz Creek Capital, Blair was a Managing Director and Operating Partner of a multi-billion dollar mid-market private equity firm where he primarily focused on assisting the firm with deal sourcing and organizational development of its portfolio companies. Blair has over 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry having worked for a number of hospital systems, physician groups and managed care companies. In 1995, he was named the CEO of the private equity backed company Sloans Lake Managed Care (“SLMC”) until Centura Health purchased the company in August of 1997. Thereafter, Blair and his partners formed the Phylink Group to manage and consult for physician groups, and in 2001 along with several others, acquired SLMC back from Centura Health. SLMC was eventually acquired by another private equity firm and became the platform for HMS Healthcare where Blair served as the CEO from 2001 until its sale to a strategic buyer in 2005. Prior to SLMC, Blair was President of Porter/Littleton Hospitals (1992 to 1994), and a corporate Senior Vice President for Rocky Mountain Adventist Healthcare System (1989 to 1992) and the CEO of Columbine Medical Group for two years prior to that.

Doug Goetz

Co-Founder, Managing Director

Prior to co-founding Quartz Creek Capital, Doug served as CEO at Schryver Medical, a private equity backed provider of diagnostic healthcare services. Before that, he served as CEO of Correctional Healthcare Companies, a private equity backed healthcare services company focused on providing healthcare services to state and local agencies across the United States, and Senior Vice President and CFO of HMS Healthcare, a private equity backed multi-region preferred provider organization (PPO). As a vice-president for the TriZetto Group, a healthcare services firm, Doug led numerous integrations of healthcare networks. Doug also served as Corporate CFO for PorterCare Adventist Health System, a Denver-based multi-hospital network, as well as serving as COO and CFO of Sloans Lake Managed Care. In total, Doug has more than 24 years of healthcare management and leadership experience.

Jeff Tikker

Vice President

Jeff joined Quartz Creek Capital in a full time capacity in January 2016. Prior to joining the firm, he was Vice President of Finance and Operations for BriteStreet Energy Group, a privately held renewable energy provider selling equipment and coordinating installations of solar and wind energy solutions to residential and commercial customers across the nation. Before that, Jeff worked with Doug at Correctional Healthcare Companies, where he spent 8 years working throughout all facets of the company. Much of his time at private equity backed CHC was spent in M&A activities, where they acquired five new entities and went through two separate Sponsor ownership changes during his tenure. Jeff holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska and an MBA from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln.

Eric Hayes

Senior Advisor

Eric joined Quartz Creek in June 2017 as a senior advisor. Prior to joining the firm, he was at Backline Partners, a Denver-based independent sponsor. Before that, Eric was a Vice President at SquareTwo Financial (a KRG Capital portfolio company) where he helped grow a new business line and led an analytics team. He moved to Denver in 2006 to work at KRG Capital Partners, a middle-market private equity firm where he was responsible for deal origination, transaction execution, and portfolio management. During his six years at KRG Capital, he partnered with 10 companies to strengthen the foundation of their business, accelerate organic growth and complete strategic add-on acquisitions, positioning them as industry leaders and create substantial value. Prior to moving to Denver, Eric worked at US Bank in Leverage Landing and Special Assets Group and at Norwest Mezzanine Partners. Eric is a graduate of St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota.

Correctional Health Companies was a national leader in healthcare services for inmates in federal, state, local and private correctional facilities across the U.S. The company provided a comprehensive health solution for over 70,000 daily lives.

HMS Healthcare

HMS Healthcare was a regional network of Preferred Provider Organizations (PPO’s). Through a couple of key acquisitions, HMS delivered healthcare benefits to roughly 1.75 million people throughout the Midwest.

Home Solutions

Home Solutions is the foremost provider of home infusion services along the Eastern coast of the U.S. The company provides chemotherapy, antibiotics, cardiac, hemophilia and other infusion services to over 15,000 patients each year.

Liberty Dialysis

Liberty Dialysis is a national provider of dialysis with over 100 dialysis clinics and maintains partnerships with more than 25 local hospitals and 100 nephrologists.
